Gigano, EvilBadass that he is, takes immediate advantage of suddenly having a pair of disoriented easy targets sprawled on the ground at his feet and decides that now is a good time to kill Kaito. Cue Close up of Kaito's face tensing in expectation of a blow from a sword longer than his body... only to open his eyes again when he realizes Tyranno thrown himself on his hands and knees over the children shielding them while letting Gigano have multiple free shots at his back.

* ApocalypseHow: The Dragozaurs' victory would cause a Total Extinction, all life force from Earth and would be drained and Earth would be rendered lifeless.

* GuestStarPartyMember: Rick is not seen as much as the other two kids and only helps out during really big incidents such as the midseason finale and GrandFinale. At least [[ADayInTheLimelight two episodes]] featured him and the Cerasaur brothers without any other heroic characters period. Justified somewhat as he lives out in the countryside which is fairly secluded.

* MidSeasonUpgrade: Tyranno and Tricera in episode 15, courtesy of Dino Ramph. At least Tyranno loses his after giving all the lifeforce the collective Dino Knights have to defeat Diamond Ryugu.

* NeverMyFault: Drago Ceratops accidentally killed his leader, Drago Tyran, thinking he was an enemy. All he has to say about the matter is "This is all your fault!" to his fallen commander before fleeing back to base.

** It is stated several times that a group called the Ancients gave the Dino Knights their powers. We never learn anything about them or what they even looked like. On the Dragozaurs' side, we never learn what the "Dark Crystal" is and how it factors into their transformations.

* AmbiguousGender: Diamond Ryugu has in the English dub a rather distorted yet feminine voice that indicates her gender, though it can be hard to see at first glance. The English dubbers were evidently confused too as they accidentally referred to her as a male once in an early episode (the character is male in the Japanese version). Also not helping is how she is addressed as "sire" at some points instead of "malady" like most female rulers are. Her later appearances towards the end toned this down.

* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: Drago Elephas, Drago Ceratops, Drago Dactyl, and Drago Stegus were not destroyed in their final onscreen battle with the Cerasaurs, but were not seen again afterward. [[FridgeHorror Perhaps Ryugu disposed of them for so many failures]].

* BadassDecay: The Drago Clones were dangerous enough in their debut, enough to take out all but three of the main Dino Knights (who were under a bravery drain spell), even if they lost Drago Tyran in the rematch. After Drago Brachio's demise, however, they were treated as little more than EliteMooks for the remainder of their appearances until Rick and the Cerasaur brothers beat them in episode 21, after which [[ChuckCunninghamSyndrome they stop showing up]].
