** [[spoiler: The series makes the interesting choice of going with the worst possible ending in the game which leads into a canon ResetButton, and then instead of skipping back to the beginning of the series with minor adjustments as in the standard NewGamePlus, we're shown what appears to be the GoldenEnding, which normally takes its place upon a perfect playthrough. This implies but skips over an entirely new 13-episodes-worth series of NewGamePlus events taking place.]]

** Makoto, Fumi, and Yamato get called out by everyone else for making tough decisions to preserve the human race. Except everyone is catching on the fact that JP's are only preserving the competent elite, meaning they have the audacity to pretend they're serving the greater good while sacrificing people for their own agenda. Yamato isn't making a big secret out of it, and Fumi is being her typical trollish self, but Makoto staunchly sticks by the company line of having good intentions and bears the brunt of their attempts to convince them to save [[spoiler: Nitta]].

* {{Deconstruction}}: Most of the game's humorous moments get this treatment. Hibiki's CloudCuckooLander antics are treated as a psychological defense mechanism of a broken, desperate man, Daichi's bumbling very nearly gets the team killed multiple times, Yamato's CrossesTheLineTwice treatment of his minions is taken to its [[BadBoss logical]] [[WeHaveReserves conclusion]], and more.

Alright people. We need to stop treating Yamato like he\'s the villain. He\'s a bigger jerkass and the anime makes his route seem all evil but it\'s NOT black and white! All of these entries are ignoring the other episodes in the series and only looking at the recent two episodes.

** Yamato also suffers from this, as his [[spoiler:plans for the remaking of the world, ruled by ability and power,]]is treated as something Hibiki must prevent, while in the game, it is an ending just like any other, with good and bad points to it that are discussed by the characters. [[spoiler:This is even more pronounced when Ronaldo dies]]. He is also far more cruel and ruthless, treating everyone as a tool when the protagonist instantly earned his respect the moment he defeated Dubhe in the game, here he treats Hibiki as a pawn and is more than willing to let the people he considers "friends" [[spoiler:to die in the end]] if it means he'll reach his goal. On top of treating his men in a WeHaveReserves type of way, which is something the game version never did.

* BigBad:[[spoiler:Polaris is more of a BiggerBad, although Polaris and the Septentriones set the overall plot in motion. In terms of an antagonist who actively plots against the heroes and the heroes fight this person, Yamato. Ironically, Yamato is a BigGood as well, since he and his group are keeping Japan together through the Apocalypse...but Yamato plans to remake the world into an extreme Meritocracy where the weak die, and the strong live.]]
