* HaveIMentionedIAmHeterosexualToday: Lorne. The character encompasses many aspects of a [[CampGay stereotypically gay]] man; and he smirks upon mentioning Angel in leather pants. However he later says that the reason he never lived up to the expectations of his ProudWarriorRace is because he was "hanging by the well and chatting up the senoritas". Andy Hallet explained Lorne's sexuality as being closer to omnisexual (figuratively speaking), since he "loves ''all'' humans."

Deleted Five Man Band example - deemed by the cleanup thread to be misuse.

* FiveManBand: Lampshaded by Fred in "Fredless", right down to naming Wesley as "the brain", Gun as "the muscle", and Cordy as "the heart". Later [[DeconstructedTrope deconstructed]] by an incresingly-embittered Gunn ("Guise Will Be Guise"), who resents being the dumb muscle of the group. While the Fang Gang's roster does shift and they move in roles, they form a pretty consistent band:
** Angel is TheLeader. As Gunn points out, it's his name on the cards. Even after the return of Darla when [[spoiler: Angel fired his friends to embrace his darker nature and tackle her alone, feeling bad about pushing them away, and the offering to actually work ''for'' them rather than employing them again, putting Wes in the leadership role on paper]] it's still Angel calling the shots. [[spoiler: This role also temporarily goes to guest star Faith during season 4 when Angel loses his soul for a few episodes and Angelus returns. It doesn't last that long though.]]
** Wesley is TheLancer. Despite being referred to as TheSmartGuy by Fred and Gunn, he really exists as a foil to Angel and to be his second-in-command, even developing into being fully capable of taking up the leadership mantle in Angel's absence. As such, he even winds up coming into conflict with Angel on multiple occasions, butting heads as Lancers do. Arguably, some may put Cordelia in this role, but confidence, bravery and feisty personality traits don't necessarily determine a lancer (and she's too similar to Angel to be a foil).
%%*** During the early parts of season 1, Doyle had this role.
** Fred is TheSmartGuy. Wesley has some smart guy tendencies, and during seasons 1 and 2 he was the candidate for this role given his bottomless pit of knowledge regarding demons and artefacts, but once Fred joins in season 3 and finally gets settled into the gang after proving herself with her inventions, she takes this spot and makes it her own. It could be said Fred's place in the team is solely to help with the science-y stuff, where as Wes still maintains a monopoly on the mystic knowledge side.
** Gunn is TheBigGuy. A good example of the member of Team Angel whose position in the group is up to the least debate (minus Angel himself). He even resents that he's basically a blunt instrument to do the smashing and its brought up many times. He tries to move away from it in season 5, but it doesn't last.
** Cordelia is TheChick. It's mentioned ''many'' times that she's what's holding the gang together (being explicitly referred to as TheHeart), and that she's their moral compass. To the point that after she's gone, the gang finds themselves all over the place during some of the worst predicaments they've ever faced. It's underlined in "You're Welcome", where Cordy comes back and is shocked at how far the group has fallen into complacency at Wolfram & Hart, with Angel even admitting to Cordelia's face that he's been lost without her guidance.

* HourglassPlot: Two examples, both related to the rogue slayer Faith:
** Her two-episode arc in Season 1 first has Angel going after Faith, and Wesley trying to hold him back, insisting she can be rehabilitated; then in the next episode, after Wesley gets kidnapped and tortured by Faith and Angel realizes [[SuicideByCop her true motives]], they switch roles. The arc goes even further back, to ''Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer'' Season 3, in which Angel's attempt to rehabilitate Faith is interrupted by Wesley getting her arrested by the Council, meaning they have switched roles twice on the subject.
** Her return in Season 4 is a double example. She switches her role in the Good versus Evil battle with the now soulless Angel(us), as well as her outlook on life with the now cold and jaded Wesley.
