** Considering Stella never had any good role models or even a healthy family dynamic growing up due to her loving but neglectful father Richard and overbearing BelovedSmother Beatrice who spoiled her while passing down her elitist views, it seems more likely that Stella just doesn't KNOW how to be a good parent since she only has her mother's example to follow. Her husbands Johnathan and Jean-Luc clearly weren't much help since the former was always busy with work and the latter is too apathetic to care about anything except social climbing, chasing women, and running his wine business to actual be a parent so he just gives Colette whatever she wants and lets her run wild as long as she stays out of his way.

** Did Stella ever truly love Jean-Luc Bevier or did she only subconsciously want to please her RichBitch mother by marrying a BlueBlood who fits Beatrice's elitist standards? Or both? While Stella claims they bonded over being aristocrats and she was swept up in his charm and sophistication, they don't seem close since in "Boxed", she admits she never knew Jean-Luc loved boxing despite being married to him for years at that point (in contrast to how [[LovingDetails she still remembers that Johnathan's favorite color is green]]). Spectra also heavily implies in "Dressed" that Stella is more aware of Jean-Luc's infidelity than she lets on, which is supported in "Costumed" when she argues with him about ogling another woman at a Halloween party (which none of the main cast or their families attend, meaning she have to try to save face). Stella eventually admits in "Visited" while CallingTheOldWomanOut that Beatrice's expectations made her do things "without a second thought" which she now regrets, indicating her domineering mother's influence did play a role in her impulsively running off with Jean-Luc. This suggests her constantly defending her husband despite him being an unfaithful, womanizing {{jerkass}} isn't just Stella being in denial, but stems from her fear that leaving him will invoke Beatrice's wrath and/or force her to admit that she ruined her first loving marriage AllForNothing (with the latter reason only growing stronger after finally standing up to her mother).

** However, the series emphasizes time and again that Colette mainly considers Danny a "challenge" to overcome and his rejection of her only fuels this because her pride can't handle him or any guy turning her down. Even if Colette does manage to get Danny to date her, she aims to mold him into her version of a perfect boyfriend and future husband to the point of dictating how Danny behaves and who he is friends with, not caring how miserable he will be as long as she has him. This proves that whatever feelings Colette has for Danny take a backseat to her wanting an obedient spouse who will fulfill her every command.

Regardless if her feelings for Danny are genuine or not, it doesn't change the fact that Colette has no respect for him since she stubbornly ignores his wishes to leave him and his loved ones alone or even acknowledge that he completely hates her guts.

** Colette does acknowledge Danny's positive qualities in "Blackmailed" when she defends him from Donovan Loadman, but her dialogue makes it clear she will take joy in stripping Danny of his virtues in order to force his personality to be identical to hers. Colette does horrible things because she wants to and isn't the least bit repentant about them when Kwan or Danny call her out. Ultimately, ruining people's lives is something she does for fun regardless of what other motives are at play.

Not points of discussion, already listed on the story and character pages.

* Star and Danny angrily point out that Beatrice's pathetic sob story does NOT excuse or justify the horrible person she's chosen to become in the slightest bit since she still chooses to be a total bitch despite everything working out for in the end with her getting a wealth husband and loving NiceGuy husband, plus for all her claims of resenting being forced to marry Richard to save her family from poverty, she has no problem hypocritically forcing her own granddaughter Star into a similar fate by trying to bully her into an ArrangedMarriage with her most horrible AbhorrentAbhorrent Donovan Loadman just because he's a BlueBlood purely for her own gain to acquire more wealth, connections, and standing in high society while not caring one bit that Star is already happily dating Danny or that she utterly despises Loadman who is a violent brat that hits her for defying him, which only proves Johnathan's point that all that matters to her is her's family reputation since she treats her actual family members like dirt. They also call her out on being an UngratefulBastard for threatening to leave Richard penniless in a divorce just for refusing to go along with her insane plan to force their granddaughter Star in an unwanted ArrangedMarriage despite him saving her family from going bankrupt. The couple comes to the conclusion that Beatrice is just rotten to the core, always has been and always will be so they make it clear she better stay out of their lives or else she'll pay dearly for it, and that she'll be the one left completely broke if she divorces Richard since Star will use all her dad's connections to ensure she gets none of Richard's money.

** Considering Stella has always resented Beatrice deep down for being a cruel MyBelovedSmother to her for her whole life, maybe she married Johnathan partly to get back at her mother and try to be her own person by making her own choices before things between them soured and she met Jean-Luc?

*** The fact that Colette is fine with ruining the lives of Danny's loved ones by framing them and blackmailing him into dating her along with forcing him to stay away from the people he cares about and keeping him in line with threats to make sure he stays devoted only to her just PROVES how completely hollow her feelings are for him since she doesn't care how miserable he is as long as she has him. Her treatment of him is so bad that Misty, Skulker, and Ember are disgusted enough to agree to a truce with Team Phantom just to save Danny from her.
