That Other 1 Dude: That "it was suppose to be called Sasuke" thing isn't Wild Mass Guessing, it's just character bashing, and it's not even creative like the one before it.

Nlpnt: You're right as far as the OP (I still haven't made sense of it...); I'm not sure where to put my (actually researched!) explanation of the name's out-of-universe origin, so I'll park it here for now. Word Of God is that the series was originally conceived without Sasuke, who was created to be the complete opposite of and perfect rival to Naruto, at the suggestion of Kishi's editor at Shonen Jump Japan. The last-minute part is backed up by the fact that "Sasuke" is a default name for a ninja character in Japan, sort of like calling a butler "Jeeves" or The Littlest Cancer Patient "Timmy". And if "Uchiha" (uchiwa = fan) isn't a Line Of Sight Name, then what is it?

That Other 1 Dude: It's already listed under Executive Meddling.

Annwyd: Agreeing with That Other 1 Dude here. I know fandom in general hates Sasuke, but it seems to be particularly bad here on TV Tropes. He's not everyone's type of character, but from an objective standpoint, he's no worse than the often Marty Stu-ish Naruto himself—just Darker and Edgier and (usually) more inclined to fail. The main reason he looks worse is the fact that he's Naruto's rival, and Naruto is the hero, so fans tend to identify with him and get frustrated at characters who get in his way. As for the claims of him being a huge prick, again, from an objective standpoint, all he did wrong was act aloof and arrogant to cover up his massive PTSD, pick increasingly escalating fights with the guy who was picking fights with him, betray a village that he had no particular reason to be loyal to, and fail to see through Madara's Xanatos Gambit. This is kind of simplified, and he still did a lot of dumb things (of course, so did Naruto), but the claims of him being a "sociopath" are still essentially an artefact of perspective.

Raiko: I edited a slight typo in the title of the 'Sasuke is not a Nietzsche Wannabe' entry. It was spelled 'Nische' before.
