Tzetze: Sorted examples, cut some. This is going to have a lot of overlap with Dumbass Has a Point and The Cuckoolander Was Right, that will need cutting.

  • Full Metal Panic
    • Painful truth be told, Gauron was actually right, at least partially. It's not so obvious in the anime, but in the original novels it is specifically mentioned that he is the only one who "understood how Sousuke felt". Sousuke is deeply disturbed by that, naturally, but he still acknowledges Gauron's words as being true. For example, the "I don't remember selling my soul to Mithril." line that Sousuke tells his superiors at the end of The Second Raid, in the novels was actually first said to him by Gauron himself: "Did you sell your soul to those bastards in Mithril?" So at least in that regard, Gauron did teach Sousuke an important lesson in independance and being your own master - which has always been a big part of Gauron's character, and the main reason why he betrayed his organization in the first place.

  • Just Shoot Me
    • Later on, Maya returns to the office party she was missing and repeats the phrase...only for Elliot to say "Yeah, you know, I think I wrote that in a wall somewhere!"
      • Her father was the first one to say it to her, which gives you some idea of what his trip to Chicago was like.
