cg12345: About the "Music" example: What is a "Wah wah pedal", and what does it have to do with this trope? Would someone please elaborate?

Arivne: I'm pretty sure the lyrics for Thunderball are talking about James Bond himself, not any of the villains in the movie (Largo, Blofeld, etc.).

Seven Seals: @cg12345: Well, this is a wah-wah pedal. As far as I can tell its mention is a complete non sequitur. But it's so absurd that it's funny, which is why I'm reluctant to take it out.

Adam850: Well, I removed it. Music

  • This editor has yet to read a description of a Wah Wah pedal that does not do this.
    • ...dude...wait, what?

Conqueso: I removed "Poor Thing" and "A Barber and His Wife" from the Sweeney Todd example. The first one is more about how much Mrs. Lovett thought Lucy sucked, not Turpin, and second is pure exposition.

So It Begins: Since "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch" is the Trope Codifier, shouldn't it be up at the top of the page?
