Adonic Meki: I really haven't seen much live action stuff at all, so I don't know if this shows up in live action as well. If it does, go ahead and toss it into the general tropes section as well.

Regarding Samurai Deeper Kyo and this topic: Kyo's former protege Akira, the blind swordsman who uses ice magic, is probably the one you mean. He's infuriated when anyone else seriously endangers Kyo because he wants to kill him himself.

Ununnilium:

  • This is somewhat subverted in Firefly. Malcolm, the Captain, is in a fight with a villain. Zoe restrains the other members of the crew, saying something to the effect of, "The captain needs to do this himself". Malcolm, panicked, replies, "No I don't! No I don't!". The crew then shoots the villain.

This is actually This Is Something He's Got to Do Himself, and it's already over there.

AKK: Over on "the other wiki", there's mention that Char Aznable actually leaked plans over to the E.F.S.F. so that he would have Amuro Ray in a "fair fight"...

Mike: Is there a trope for the only one allowed to do something else to someone? I'm thinking the Firefly situation where Mal is the only one allowed to call Inara a whore.

Vide0Gam3r: Mike, that's what I was thinking. I recall an episode of Drake And Josh where Megan protects Drake & Josh, saying "No one can torture you but me!'
