Alex319: I'm not sure this entry has the right name. "Speciation" is the process by which species of organisms evolve into other species. Unless what you're saying is that the superheroes are mutating so that they can't interbreed, it seems like "Super Hero Specialization" might be what was intended. Can I change this?
Gus: Bit of a coin-toss on this one, Alex. The thrust of the "speciation" entries is specifically that similar character attributes are driven out, almost evolutionarily, by certain plot forces. It is not so much that characters specialize, as a remark on why we only find single instances of a type in a group. "Speciation" seems to carry the concept fairly well, breeding capabilities to one side.
Ununnilium: It's a metaphorical use. Works perfectly, for me.
