Cassius335: It's a mangling of what actually happened. Virgil (Static) saw Alfred in the batcave. So when Alfred shows up with the limo to collect Bruce Wayne, Virgil puts two and two together.
Lemurian: What exactly is the Trope Namer here? There is no reason given for it in the explanation.
