Lale: This seems repetitive of Ms. Fanservice and Mr. Fanservice.

Silent Hunter: It isn't. It's sexiness trumping plot logic. Neither of those two are.

Aelfwine: But shouldn't it be expanded so that it would really parallel the Rule of Cool and the Rule of Funny ? (ie refer to any instance where disbelief is suspended to increase sexiness/fanservice opportunities) ?

Camacan: Dropped the mention of Science Fiction as the genre for the trope — not because it doesn't turn up in Sci-fi, it certainly does, more that it turns up in lots of genres. I also had a got at improve the wording of the definition — hopefully I haven't dropped anything significant. There is a discussion about renaming this trope to a narrower name so we can use Rule of Sexy for the supertrope like Aelfwine is talking about.
