Bobby G: OK, so I finally launched this. It needs more humour and probably more examples, but I'm too tired to come up with anything good at the moment, soz. I hope this is OK until the Wiki Magic takes effect. Also, I couldn't figure out which tropes are most common in rock operas either.
Mc Lolz: Which of these are actually GOOD? I'm interesting in litening to some, but choosing randomly seems harmful.
Bobby G: Tommy is always a good place to start. The Wall, American Idiot and Quadrophenia are also very good. If you don't mind depressing and angsty music, The Black Parade is surprisingly listenable. 2112 isn't really my thing, but is generally quite highly rated. You may want to check out SF Sorrow by the Pretty Things, too, if you're interested in older music. If you don't mind slightly more commercial music, you could try The War of the Worlds.
