Licky Lindsay: Is this a continuation of same thing they used to do on Dragnet (the story is true, names have been changed to protect the innocent..)?

Big T: Yip. Except I don't think Dragnet qualifies for this page because its crimes weren't so much from the headlines as from police case reports and court documents.

Eric DVH: Also, they had no pretensions of originality, “only the names have been changed to protect the innocent” and all that.

• An episode of the original CSI involved migrant workers and vagrants being held as slaves and tortured/killed by a ranch owner. There's been at least one real case of this, which included audio recordings of the torture sessions.
