Boobah: Pulled
"Backfire" has three syllables, for no clear reason (although it is a Cool Plane).
because of sheer WTF. If it's an obscure joke I missed, feel free to drop the line back in. To be more clear: I'm not arguing that the Tu-22 is not a Cool Plane. Adding them them to Bear tankers made pretty much the entire North Atlantic dangerous (in a Monkey Out Of Nowhere kinda way) for the NATO player in the Hunt for Red October boardgame. I just can't see how you can pronounce "Backfire" in English and get a third syllable.
Silent Hunter: "Back-fi-er", gives you three syllables.
Silent Hunter: How do you pronounce "Sovremennyy"?
