Working Title: Series Theme: From YKTTW

Man Called True: The victory music in Chrono Cross is not the Final Fantasy victory theme. If I may dip into onomonopeia: Final Fantasy: "Dadada-da-da-dada-da!" Chrono Cross: "Dadadada-da-dadadada-da-dadaDA-dadadada!" (Actually it's a remix of "Crono's Theme" from Chrono Trigger.)

  • Shale: "Lucca's Theme", actually. Crono's theme ("Chrono Trigger") is heard in "The Dreamwatch of Time."
    • When I first heard Lucca's theme in Chrono Trigger, I thought "that should be the battle victory music!", so I was very pleased when they actually made it so in the sequel. :)

Prfnoff: Trying to maintain the distiction between this and Leitmotif.

Midna: Someone care to explain the "I don't ever want to go out with a foul-mouthed basketball" part?

  • My personal interpretation is that somebody came up with "I don't ever want to go out with a foul-mouthed basketball" as "lyrics" to the victory theme (the looping part, after the intro). It's the same number of syllables as notes, and you can sing along to it as lyrics... it actually fits pretty well. Catchy, and thus, capable of forever ruining the theme. My guess is that they came up with it at home and sing it themselves every time they hear it, and thus isn't really fitting as an example, but I guess it could also be from some web video.
