Gorgon: I could easily pull this ...

May have started to fade in recent years with the rise of the Work Com. But still very present on the Dom Com; shows that are combinations of the two, with some time spent at work and some at home, are somewhat rare (though The Drew Carey Show may have come close, and The Simpsons would almost assuredly qualify), despite making some appearances (Sally Forth, for example) in the funny pages.

... and feel that I had improved the article. Any objections?

Ununnilium: Mmmmm... None here.

Gorgon: It is done, then.

Vampire Buddha: Removed natter:

  • This was originally intended as a reference to the once commonly-held view that as technology made productivity-per-hour rise over time humans would find themselves able to work less and less while maintaining or even improving their standard of living. Ironic, eh?
** Umm... what? That's less of a "view" and more of a "objectively measurable fact". WTF is "ironic" about it?
** It's because rather than working less and less, modern employment is moving towards working more and more, as computer technology allows us to do our jobs more quickly and connectivity devices such as the Blackberry allow our bosses to call on us whenever and wherever.
** Although all those jokes about his crippling "button finger" from his One-Hour Work Week seem a lot less fantastic in an era of carpal tunnel injures.\\
