Looney Toons: I moved a big chunk of the former last paragraph over to Hollywood Healing, where it fits better, and turned what remained into a link to that entry.

Andyzero: I edited this a bit and removed some examples. The emphasis here is that the person should have gotten hurt from something, but mysteriously doesn't. If they have superpowers that explain it, then it's Nigh-Invulnerability.

B: Anyone wanna explain how Unbreakable deconstructs this? Is it meant to represent the emotional trauma of being the sole survivor of humanly fatal incidents?

Chuckg: Removed the Spider-Man 3 entry — the superpowered characters are supposed to be able to take that kind of impact.

Gryphon: Should Rocky Balboa from the Rocky movies go here? I mean even the main villain says he's "like a piece of iron". Or is it more like determinator?

Insanity Prelude: I don't know, but whoever put in the Devil May Cry example? I just winced. And normally descriptions on here don't affect me XD

Amplt0: Removed the following.

No. That's not a subversion, that's an aversion. And they're vampires; Hollywood Healing doesn't apply in that situation.

Insanity Prelude: Eeeeurgh. Eye Scream is worse somehow when it's a real life example (see also: the discussion page for that very trope.)
Paul A: Natter from the Comic Book section. The bit about the Shocker is contradictory, and the bit about the movie doesn't belong in the Comic Book section.

  • Some of Spider-Man's villains, especially Dr. Octopus in the 2nd movie. He's a normal guy (who's not particularly buff) with metal arms fused to his spine... So why doesn't he fall uncounsious the moment he gets a right hook in the face from Spidey? The movie makes it worst as he appears to be almost more durable then Spider-Man himself. Other Spider-Man villains like the Shocker who otherwise lack superpowers of their own have a surprising ability to soak up damage.
    • Actually, Shockers' suit absorbs and distributes impact, and Doctor Octopus was barely in control. On top of that, Spider-man admits to pulling punches, so it's very likely that an insane man with little control over his own mind would shrug off a pulled punch from a man who can lift a car.

Discar: I was considering adding these two lines to the page quote:

Ferretina: Whoops, silly me, I forgot to turn the lightning generators on!
Othar: Er...not a whole lot more, I'll admit.

Thoughts on that? Will it break the flow too much?
