Lord Seth: How many of these are really "lies" rather than someone saying something, then changing their mind? (which would fall under Flip-Flop of God) It's only a lie if they know it's false at the time they give it.

The bit about multi-Doctor stores is mentioned here, if that's worth anything. —Document N

Daibhid C: As far as I'm aware, RTD is still saying he doesn't like multi-Doctor stories. I'm sure he said he wasn't even that keen on the clips of old Doctors in "The Next Doctor", and only went along with it because Julie Gardner said it would work, and she wasn't even an old-Who fan. I don't know if he's ever commented on "Time Crash", which was after all, a charity thing, and Steve Moffat's baby.

Rothul: Removed the following as it is not actually "lying".

  • The producers of The Amazing Race have been known to ask already-eliminated teams to perform "decoy runs", which may be "leaked" in case a spoiler is leaked, so as to confuse the fake and real spoilers. This is most often done with late-game portions that take place within the U.S. in case people see the teams running around during filming and later recognize them on TV.

Prfnoff: Moving this to Foiler Footage.

I pulled the Lynn Johnston example. The constant format changes as For Better Or For Worse wound down may fit under Flip-Flop of God. For all her faults, she never knowingly mislead readers, she just plain changed her mind. It was announced that she would use a 'hybrid' model, mixing new strips set in the modern day with flashback strips from the archive. They tried it, it didn't work, and they announced that instead they would rerun a fifty-fifty mix of early strips and new strips drawn in the early style. Confusing, but nobody lied.
