Describe It Gets Better Discussion here.

Guessmyname: Could we choose a different name for this perhaps? I thought it was the opposite of It Got Worse when I saw the trope's title.

Joysweeper: I think it makes sense. Starts slow, gets better. Does sound like starts good, gets better, though.

Amitai: But what you're talking about involves Growing the Beard, which is what this name strongly implies the trope is, even though it's not. The old name made it pretty clear that it starts slow, which is the important bit.

DokEnkephalin: I agree, Get On With It Already can apply whether it gets better or its a gateway to a load of suck. It fits the explanation better, it's less subjective, and it belongs as a subtrope of Infodump while It Gets Better doesn't.

To whoever removed FFT:Advance, please give a reason. I may have exaggerated the actual amount of time initially but not by much. I know I'm far from the only person who complained about the sheer length of the intro, and I even know people who were so bored they quit before even getting to the first battle. It really is excessive.

Darmok: Cut "Similiar to RPG examples, strategy games often have a first mission where you have nothing but basic infantry to complete the objective with. Even if you already had your hands on more advanced units in the tutorial." because it doesn't provide an example.

Mr Death: The page needs some clean-up. Several of the examples seem to be "there's a part of the movie where things slow down" instead of the actual trope, which as I understand is, "Starts slow, then picks up later on." I removed the examples I was familiar with enough to be sure.

Can this trope also apply to numerous songs (many remixes are especially guilty for this)?
