Mail Chase launched as Irrevocable Message: From YKTTW

Morgan Wick: The trope description needs some fleshing out if the Simpsons example is a subversion.

Ununnilium: So fleshed.

Viewer: The Simpsons example is completely off-base. I'ma changing it.

Kimiko Muffin: ... Ellen who? The last example is meaningless to anyone who hasn't seen, uh, whatever that's referring to.

Medinoc: I concur. Absolutely NOT self-explanatory because there is no "Ellen" page on this wiki. So, who the HFIL is this ?

PacifistSoldier: A real life example (sort of): The Berkeley, CA, city council recently sent a letter to the US Marine Corps protesting the presence of a recruiting center in their city and calling the Marines "unwanted, unwelcome intruders". While the council later voted to rescind the letter, they refused to apoligise, and as a result, there are currently motions in the CA State Assembly and the US Senate to cut federal and state funding for various projects in Berkeley.

Star Bright: Is there an inverse trope, in which despite all efforts an important message never reaches its intended recipient? For example, in Romeo And Juliet Romeo never gets the letter from Friar Lawrence about Juliet Faking the Dead.
