From the title, I thought this would be a specific case of What Measure Is a Non-Human? as applied to immortals; like Dracula, various other undead and Rasputin in the Hellboy movie. —Document N
Um, about this: "There's nothing wrong with using non-lethal force to stop someone." The problem with that statement is, quite often, there is! See, in many cases, it's called torture.
