Honore DB: Shouldn't this be If You Taunt Him He Will Be Just Like You or something? The trope isn't about the hero being tempted to taunt the villain, or at least not usually. It's about the villain trying to taunt the hero into actually attacking the villain, or escalating beyond taunting.
fleb: Yeah, the current title makes no sense. And the Justice League example has nothing to do with this.
- In Justice League Unlimited, after Wonder Woman and Hades defeat Felix Faust, Hades mentions that Wonder Woman is, in fact, his daughter. He claims to have sculpted her from clay together with her mother before they broke up. Hawkgirl points out that Wonder Woman can use her lasso to see whether he's telling the truth, but Wonder Woman decides that whether or not Hades is telling the truth is irrelevant, and she won't dignify his twitting.
Torri: should there be some way of linking this with the wounded gazelle gambit? this trope has the same effects only in the WGG the good guys actually do nothing and still get in trouble.
