From YKTTW

Morgan Wick: Somewhat subverted in the Blood Ties TV show where the main vampire explains that since vampires are territorial, it's hard for two to live in the same area without eventually fighting—so turning your lover isn't a good idea. (He tried it and thought love would conquer all. It eventually failed.) *sigh* More overuse of "subverted"...

Zeke: It's just wrong that we can't list Connor from Angel on a page called I Hate You, Vampire Dad....

Idle Dandy: Yeah, but we could list that submarine guy from the fifth season if I could remember his name or the title of the episode.

BritBllt: This one's torturing me too. I know he's not really a trope example, but it's just so perfect!

  • The titular D of Vampire Hunter D is another dhampir who, considering that he's devoted his entire, apparently endless life to killing his father's people, seems to fit this trope.

Nezumi: I'm not familiar with Vampire Hunter D. Does D actually specifically target his father or vampires related to him (in which case, like Alucard and Rayne, he fits as a variation) or does he just go after vampires in general? (in which case he doesn't, as being vampire hunters is part and parcel of the Dhampir legend and most of its modern adaptations.)

Nezumi: I've been informed by a friend that he in fact doesn't specifically have anything against his father, so I'm cutting. The traditional enmity between dhampirs and vampires is not the same as this trope.
