Zeke: Should this really be a separate article from In Medias Res? A flashback of the How We Got Here sort can only happen in a medias res context.

Sci Vo: I think that the anachronic tropes should be better organized, is all. You can have In Medias Res without How We Got Here, so In Medias Res should be kept; and How We Got Here has 29 Wicks versus 9 for In Medias Res, so How We Got Here should be kept. I'll go to YKTTW and suggest an index for them.

Danel: Pulled the Avatar example:

  • Avatar The Last Airbender, "Appa's Lost Days" opens on the cliffhanger episode featuring the the kidnapping of Appa. The story explains where he's been and who he's met along the way since his four-week disappearance.

It has nothing whatsoever to do this trope, whichever way you look at it.

Caswin: How is this different from Foregone Conclusion?

Greenygal: Foregone Conclusion shows how the story ends; the first scene in How We Got Here might come from anywhere in the story.

Seanette: Took the liberty of sorting examples by medium. Apologies for any misfiles.

Honore DB: Removed "Though not why he took his clothes off. Apparently, he just felt like it." from the Firefly Trash example. We do (at least on the DVD, I wouldn't be shocked to find out Fox cut that bit). The Woman With No Name forced him to strip at gunpoint as an Ironic Punishment for seeing her be emotionally vulnerable.
