MCE: I've added some example of 75% humans, not technically the right place for them I known but I think it drives the point home.

Morgan Wick: This trope is described as Mix-and-Match Critters WITH A HUMAN AS ONE HALF in the opening sentence, so what are non-human examples doing in here?

Guillaume HJ: May be interesting to include this quote somewhere, as it both cover the trope topic rather well, and indicate that, you know, one of the worst offenders is actually (by Word of God) an aversion.

"Elves and Men are evidently in biological terms one race, or they could not breed and produce fertile offspring..." - J.R.R. Tolkien, letter.

Marth W Master: What would a Half-Cyclops look like?

Earnest: I'm going to go with "three eyed dude", because unless my mythologcial genetics/math fails me, a one eyed parent plus a two eyed parent equals a three eyed offspring.

Deadbeatloser22: Sadly, real genetics does not work that way, but whatever.

Doom Tay: Would it be considered a disadvantage when a Half-Human Hybrid lacks a trait that's necessary for one race, but isn't that big of deal for the other, assuming his lifestyle is more like the former's? For example, one parent is some avian race with a certain type of eyes to counter wind in the face, and the offspring has the flying ability, but has human eyes, which aren't suited for flying without protection.
