From YKTTW

Etrangere: I'm not sure Fan Translation, Fan Sub and Scanlation fit in there : they're not creative works, just a translation made by fans (not that it's easy to d, but it's not what's usually called a Fan Work). Also I don't see how Scanlation is a subtrope of the Remix Comic either and Doujinshi definitly aren't a subtrop of Fan Art (we don't call comics a subgenre of illustration, do we?)... I'm fixing that.

Sci Vo: I put the fan translations here because they're derivative works, made by fans. It would confuse me greatly if they weren't here. As for the details of what's related to what, I had what I thought were good reasons, but I'm not at all attached to them. Not at all. For example, I put Doujinshi under Fan Art to give a clue to clueless people (such as myself) that it has something to do with illustration. Could we put a translation of some kind next to it? "Amateur Comic", "Amateur Manga", or whatever would be most palatable to Doujinshi fans? I don't want to offend anybody.

Etrangere: Amateur Manga sounds good, edited as such. I understand where you're coming from about the fan translations given how this wiki defines Derivative Works, it's just that in fandom when you use the word "Fan Work", you only mean the creative kinds. So I wouldn't have gone looking for Scanlations under this name. It would probably be too much to create yet another Index category for 'Translations made by Fans' to collect all three, though? I'm not sure what's the best solution.

Sci Vo: I put those three under Language Tropes yesterday while I was adding them to Fan Work. Hopefully someone would be able to find them in one place or the other, either by looking for fan-made derivative works, or by looking for translations.

Amethyst: What about Fan Movies? (Original films which star the characters from an existing franchise or which take place in the same world?) What are those classified under?

Sci Vo: That's a good question. I would've said Fan Vid, but that's been defined as the video equivalent of a Remix Comic.

Etrangere: I'd see it as a new entry and a sub-trope of Fan Vid.

Anthem: Just wondering, I found this: [1]. It's called Genius: The Transgression, and it's a Fan Made RPG in the World of Darkness setting. It's about [2]s. I was thinking it should have it's own page.

The Evil Oboist: Related to the above, should we have a page for Fan RPG? Or does that fall under another category? (Also, I put Pern Fandom under Fanfic for now. Will change if a more relevant category is made.)
