Chabal2: Read this in the newspaper recently, French is no longer the sexiest accent on the planet. It seems we've been dethroned by the Irish and the Italians, and apparently this is mostly due to the perceptions of our good President. Thanks asshole!

Violet: Is there any reason why this trope title is in English? It would be so much funnier in French.

Air Of Mystery: Uh, Tout Le Choses Sonne Plus Sexe En Francais? (Je pense?)

Etrangere: Close: Tout sonne plus sexy en Français.

Air Of Mystery: Uh, can you just say "tout" meaning "all" meaning "everything"? Besides, I thought the French for 'sexy' was 'sexe' (with an acute accent on the end, which I can't do in this markup.)

Etrangere: Yes, "Tout" means "everything" or "all", and no "sexy" is "sexy" in both languages. There no word called "sexé". Sexe means sex, either as the biological organ or as the activity, just like in English.

Uh, wasn't it Gomez who went crazy every time Morticia spoke French?

Adam850: Note to self: look up quote from the second Matrix movie about cussing in French.

Red-Hatted Plumber: Removed:

  • Actually, I think you mean "J'ai beaucoup de chats dans mon pantalon".

As I just fixed my original entry.

Cassy: I think the quote about Latin, French and German is ascribed to Charles the Great. There was also a line about Spanish, though.

Hieronymus: Vraiment, but I don't know how to wiki-syntax quotes and the like. As for the Spanish quote, I'm not sure anybody thinks Spanish is 'manly' language anymore.

Cassy: Well, everybody thought Charles the Great was manly at the time... Jerome ^^.

Red-Hatted Plumber: I've heard it as "I speak French to men; to women, Italian; to God, Spanish; and to my horse - German." Charles the Great, if he's still one and the same as Charles V, would be right.

Cassy: Thanks for fixing it! You're right, it must have been Charles V.

HandleThis: To whoever it was that fixed up the Persona entry, many thanks!

Seriously though, the French language is filled with un-sexy sounds, people lack taste.

Master Hand: It'd be hilarious if someone made a French version of this page.
