Added Magic Knight Rayearth, but was unable to find proper tropes to use for the explanation, even though it feels like there should be some (something about Not Allowed to Love for Emeraude). I also feel this page may need someone to restructure it given the number of examples present. —Eldariel

I think it's mostly an anime trope for the protagonist to actually accept - or have forced on him - absolute power, and use it liberally. (I think Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure was another case not currently on the list.) The other examples seem to involve mundane kinds of power, or turning down power, and might be a separate trope. —DocumentN

What about the original Highlander movie? If this were taken as a stand-alone, instead of as the begining of a franchise, would this not count as an "End of the World" Special? ESchwenke
