Ununnilium: Note emo is an adjective, not a noun. ``v

Gus: It is a noun, here. You don't say "He is emo." You say "He is an emo."

osh: I've always heard it used in noun form, although that's probably bad grammar. Couldn't it be both? :)

Ununnilium: That's weird. I've only ever heard it as "Oh, he's so emo" or "Watch it, you're getting pretty emo there" and such.

Dark Sasami: Strictly adjective here. You'd never say "he is an emo." You'd say "he's totally emo." "Is he Goth? No, just emo." "Darn emo brats."

Of course, the young generation, after Buffy, is willing to use any word as any part of speech: last week I was told not only "he was dripping emo all over me earlier" but also "aargh, he's still emoing at me >_<".

Ununnilium: The most common noun form seems to be "emo kid".

Duckluck: I've heard all of those and more, and I'm willing to assume that, like most slang, it varries from group to group and place to place. I'm not really sure it matters, as it is the sort of word that will either be largely forgotten or have a different meaning in five years anyway. That's why we have Totally Radical, after all.

Doctor Nemesis: Why was the page quote moved from the top of the page to the bottom? No biggie, just seemed a bit of an unusual edit is all.
Kilyle: Not that this is entirely related to emos, but this page calls to mind a fact I read recently: Statistically, a person who commits suicide is likely to have done so for reasons that, to any family member or impartial observer, were far too slight to justify a suicide (insofar as any suicide might ever be "justified"). The police can ask around to try to find out the trigger, and they get stuff about how he lost his job, or his girlfriend, or how someone insulted him in public, or the like, maybe a few things put together, but they're transient and passing things that most people live through and put behind them. Somehow or other, those who commit suicide fail to see these things in perspective, and believe that their life will never get any better than it is. Sad, really.
Twitch: I wonder what "popular band" the editor referred to as going from "happy to depressed." The bands that inadvertently led the transition from hardcore punk to "modern emo", like Embrace, Dag Nasty and Rites Of Spring were not happy by any stretch of the imagination; their anger was more personal (as opposed to hardcore's raging against society) and mixed with sadness and introspection.
Rebochan: I took the examples off because this they're already being used on Emo Teen. This page, after several months of existence, could only rant about Sasuke. It's clear this was designed to simply be a definition page and someone else wanted yet another page to rant about Sasuke and start yet another fight about him.
