- Wild ARMs 3 takes place on a very much dying Filgaia... That was actually caused by a freak accident that happened when a group of researchers were trying to restore Filgaia to a healthier state 10 years before the game began. Even then, it's revealed that the freak accident was actually not an accident at all and in fact orchestrated by the Prophets and, unbeknown to everyone, Beatrice the Dream Demon.
Because dying is not dead and no one has left the planet.
Taeraresh: Anyone have an opinion on whether Earth in Modesitt's The Forever Hero fits? I'm inclined to think it does, due to basically the entire planet being polluted and deadly, but there are a few survivors still living there.
