There was a discussion on Anime on DVD forums just now about this (July 2008). Kiki and The Cat Returns are the only ones dubtitled on the Disney versions, though some overseas versions are known to have dubtitles (which nobody has mentioned on the thread yet).
Shale: Pulled the Gotham Knight example, rather than try to puzzle out whether or not subtitling the Japanese dub with the original English script, rather than translating said original script into, and then back from, Japanese, is, in fact, dubtitling.
- Batman: Gotham Knight. Note that on the Blu-Ray version, even getting the Japanese audio at all requires changing the BD/DVD menu language setting.
CodeMan38: On a side note, I've always thought it was cool when DVD producers would include two subtitle tracks, one with accurately translated subtitles and the other with dubtitles. (This is the case on all of the Studio Ghibli DVDs distributed by Disney, and many of Funimation's older releases had such a setup as well.) There have been some series where I actually liked the voice acting or writing style of the dub better, but I'm also a bit hard of hearing and don't catch all the dialogue, and it can be disorienting watching a loosely translated dub with more strictly translated subtitles.
