Pavlov: Midonin, that is one funny introduction and I can't imagine any way to improve it. I watched fully half of this series and I have no interest in finishing it. I think you captured my experience completely!

"With an all star voice cast and a confusing plot, Dragonaut is not widely regarded as good. But regardless, it aired and people watched it for some reason or other. Thus, this article."

Crowley: Both the page for the show itself and The Power of Love page mention something about a "strangely absurd" use of the Power of Love. Now I'm curious. Details, anyone?

Pavlov: Dang, the more I work on this page, the more I want to finish the series. It wasn't that bad, but it sure wasn't great. Crowley, I don't know the answer to your question but I've never known Wikipedia to *NOT* ruin a show. Did you check there?

Crowley: Huh, the Wikipedia article is rather small. There's character bios and episode summaries, but I probably won't recognize the moment if I read those. I'll find out eventually, I guess.

Master_Prichter: Deleted this line:
  • Fridge Logic — Why is Amadeus grey-haired? Isn't he roughly the same age as the rest of the dragons? If he resonated with Sieglinde, doesn't that make him about two years old?
Because the answer is this:
  • Because he looked like Sieglinde wanted him to, of course.
Anyway, a personal opinion: This show reeks of Executive Meddling. There's a quite nice scenario underneath the gigantic boobs (a friend called them a "scourge") and the conspicuous CG and the Narm that is called Kazuki and all the other things mentioned in the article. It could have easily been twice as good without those.

Pavlov: You're saying that the loli wanted some old codger chasing her around? You know, that's just disturbing enough that I'm not going to argue about it, though I never saw any sign that desire shaped one's dragon. But this show was filled with things which were supposed to disturb the viewer, not because they helped the story. Kind of like What Do You Mean, It's Not Symbolic?, with drama. I agree about the Executive Meddling. This came out just after Suzumiya Haruhi and either before or after Lucky Star, so there must have been huge pressure to produce another big hit.

Master_Prichter: That a) she wanted a grandpaternal figure and b) that Communicators look like pilots want them to are both explicitly stated in the final episodes. I understand if you weren't brave/patient enough to watch those, however.
