Working Title: Cypher Language: From YKTTW

Snake712: OK, who didn't listen to the YKTTW? This is not the same trope as inventing a new alphabet for English!

Medinoc:

  1. But that "other trope" hasn't been launched yet
  2. If so, why is Hylian still here?

fleb: Yeah, this is half the reason we should just lump them onto one page as two variants on the same trope. Lots of people won't be able to tell the difference, repeatedly. The other half is that there are ten-thousand times more examples of different-alphabet-entirely substitution ciphers than the cryptogram kind.

Nornagest: Isn't "cipher" the more common spelling here? It's a shame I can't use the Google test without getting overwhelmed by Matrix fansites...

Daibhid C: I've read the YKTTW, and I'm still not clear on the difference between Cypher Language and Wingdinglish. I say lump. (If the difference is that Cypher Language doesn't involve a new alphabet, then the trope description shouldn't say "Typically, an entirely new 26-letter alphabet is invented".)
