Tanto: Does this count attacks that damage the user, like Take Down / Double-Edge type stuff from Pokemon or Backdraft from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance?

What about Beat-em-ups? Do those count? L Ike, when you have a special move that takes a chunk of your life away (or has a stock, but if you do it again once it's at 0 you lose health)
