From YKTTW Working Title: Base Breaker
Pk Mario: There is no way that Lucario, of all Pokemon, is a Base Breaker, in the Smash bros fandom he is at best a well liked character, and at worst a Replacement Scrappy for Mewtwo, he isn't a true Scrappy and much less a Wesley. And in the Pokemon fandom he is well liked by both the games fans for being a very strong choice in competitive play that can fit in many teams, and the anime fans that like him for his appereance in The Movie, there is no reason for any large chunk of them to hate him, and I've never seen anyone do so.
Beta Ray: You'd be suprised how many Pokemon fans I've seen that hate him, it's quite a large sect. As far as Smash Bros. goes a Replacement Scrappy is still a Scrappy and a fairly unpopular one at that.
EDIT: Oh and nice dupe, but your gonna have to try harder than that.
This trope only seems to refer to characters. Wouldn't it be better if it was expanded to include plot points, events, or otherwise any specific decision that caused a broken base instead?
Beta Ray: Possibly, but I think there are already tropes for that.
