Parallaxal: Kyoto Animation's 2006 adaptation of Kanon. Not exactly the first thing to come to mind for the word "badass", but somehow it still seems fitting.
Doesn't even come to mind at all. Neither Mai not Yuuichi are badass. Nothing KEY is ever badass. I'm on the search for a better picture.

Some Sort Of Troper: The trope description doesn't even require them to be badasses and it beside the point. I'll save comments for the degradation of the use of Badass for another day but I'll point out that for this case we're just trying to say "this ends up looking cool" and possibly, at a stretch, "this helps contribute to their badassness" not the other way around. The current pic doesn't look like they are back to back, facing down their surrounding opponents. It looks like they're in some civilian crowd with several people (including a little girl) ignoring them while they are not so much back to back as side by side.
C Banana: The current picture doesn't really show them back to back but more side to back.
