- Objection! Subjective trope if I ever saw one!
- The trope isn't that Atlantis is actually a dull place for stories; it's stating the difficulty writers seem to have in writing good underwater settings and the similar difficulty of getting people interested in them.
Subjective indeed. One might as well say that space exploration is boring - there's nothing but a vacuum out there.
