Big T: Somehow the following quote from ANN needs to be implemented. I just can't figure out how.

Often referred to as the first Anime TV series, but it is not. The first Japanese animated TV series was Manga Calendar, however Tetsuwan Atom was the first Japanese animated TV series to feature an ongoing plot.

(later) Well, I tried. Here's the original in case it gets lost in the history

Astro Boy is historically significant as the very first anime series to be distributed in the United States. It is also, perhaps, the first true anime, in the sense in which the term is used today. Along with Eighth Man, Gigantor and Speed Racer, it introduced anime to American audiences and paved the way for later, more sophisticated works on both sides of the Pacific.

Te Chameleon: I just saw the movie tonight, and I'm fighting the urge to add a Fridge Logic entry to the movie section- seriously, how did it come as a surprise to Astro that he was a robot? Wouldn't finding out that he was wearing boots (that he couldn't remove) in bed be a clue? Or the fact that he couldn't feel his toes inside those boots? Not to mention what would happen the first time he tried to do anything that would require removing the welded-on shorts...
