Morgan Wick: Since this was originally created by a rather newbie editor, I'm not sure it has exactly the best title. Also, this thing needs inbound links or else it's going to come up in a YKTTW discussion and we'll be going crazy because we could swear we have it but we can't find it. :D
By all means change the title, I only used it 'cos Bat Mite and Orko give me the same feeling as Scrappy. By the way, I am apalled to hear thet the wretched mite has been yanlked out of Overdog's fevered brain and made a character again! I HATE THAT LITTLE SNOT!

Shiralee: Added. Man, I hated that thing too. Why is it environmental movies try to get their shitty messages across with such irritating-to-downright-infuriating cutesy characters? I bet Cheney has that in mind when he goes logging. They should try selling environmentalism with hotness, bet that would work a lot better, especially for the pubescent+ crowd! Bein Sane: I'm having a little trouble distinguishing between this, Small, Annoying Creature, and Ridiculously Cute Critter.
Hasher Britarse: I created the page to reflect how much I hate the kind of characters who seem less realistic than the rest of the cast and tis is explained by saying that they are from other dimensions or planets, like that's an excuse for having a gonk in an otherwise serious story. Admittedly it overlaps with Small Annoyng Creature, but i had a particular category of odious little squirt in mind.
Anonymous Mc Cartneyfan: Could you please make that particular category clearer, then? Every Small, Annoying Creature can be classed as The Scrappy—that's why the creature is annoying. And that entry explains that Small Annoying Creatures are often in a goofier style than everyone else. This needs to be more than Small, Annoying Creature+Handwave.
Hasher Britarse: Point taken, but in fact the trope is sort of a handwave, the viewer asks, "Why the hell is that character so stupid and unrealistic, don't they realise he spoils the show?" and the unsatisfactory answer comes back, "Ah, but he's an alien, you see. Everyone's like him where he comes from."
Actually, that's a better summary than I gave it before, I'll copy it to the page.
Finally, remember that they aren't all Small Annoying Creatures, Jar-Jar is taller than me, and Mr. Mxtlpxtly is supposed to be an antagonist worthy of Superman (Howls of Derisive laughter!)
Crowbar: Would someone care to elaborate on the presence of the Slitheen from Doctor Who on this page? They don't really fit any of the trope description. They're grotesque, monstrous, callous bad guys. They were going to blow up Earth and sell the remaining slag for cash. Hell, Slitheen isn't even the name of their species, it's the name of the crime family they belong to.
