Kayube: One brilliant Mad-related... group of things are the decade anthology books (Mad About the '50s, '60s, '70s, and '80s... don't know if they've gotten to '90s yet). I actually learned a lot about recent history from their spoofs of current events. You CAN learn things from Mad.
Ialdabaoth: I learned from Mad the basic plot of many a classic film, novel and other fictional work long before I actually saw or read it. Nearly as informative as my big brother's old Doonesbury collections that taught me all about Watergate.
