Darkblade: Okay the same Evangelion is one series either it is meant for kids making the scary stuff Nightmare Fuel or it is not meant for kids and therefore the scary stuff is High Octane Nightmare Fuel. It can be one or the other it can't be both, yet it has pages in both sections.

LE Xicon 712: There, I changed it so it's about the series in total. The End Of Eva sign will still be up there to show that End of Evangelion had intentional nightmare fuel, which is what Nightmare Fuel Unleaded is supposed to mean.

Cassy: I didn't follow these two pages from the very beginning and I'm confused. Do you mean that the main series didn't contain intentional Nightmare Fuel? I'd beg to differ.

Darkblade: I'm saying that it is debateable if the Nightmare Fuel is intentional or not. If it is intentional then Neon Genesis Evangelion should be cut. Otherwise this one should be cut.

Cassy: I think it's meant to be horrifying, you don't throw around cannibalism, child torture, bodily decay and rape just for the hell of it (Jesus... sometimes this makes me wonder why I'm a fan of this -_-). I still don't think I understand the distinction you're referring to because the main High Octane Nightmare Fuel page talks about The Same But More of Nightmare Fuel and about adult fears, which really abound in Evangelion (fear of being alone forever? Of not finding love? Of communication breakdown? Of your personal boundaries being repeatedly violated by social predators? Of being forced into professional choices that deeply conflict with your convictions or even the most basic ethics? Of not being able to protect kids from a Crapsack World and from their own insane parents? Check!)

Cassy: Wow, the hanged doll strikes at the very core of the horror of NGE... That being said, I wouldn't want a very depressed troper to stumble over it at 4 a.m., so I vote against it. I still think we might want to find a better illustration that the Red Cross Book, though -something that might speak to people who haven't necessarily watched Evangelion or The End.

millinniummany3k:I'm solely tempted to put up Rei's severed head, but that'd be even worse. How about the Eo E cover? That might do the trick without driving tropers to suicide.

owh: Huge Ginormous Rei is something saved for hotlinks and warnings, I believe. I've found a few screenscaps of Eo E that are fairly appropriate, like the EVA Mass Production Units crucified or the LCL planet dissolving into the stigmata in Rei's hands, but I'm gonna draw the line at Gorn unless you people REALLY want your "giant split open head with Slasher Smile" lovin'.

Cassy: I agree about Rei's head and Gorn. I want to say kudos to the troper who put on the Eo E poster that shows Third Impact, that's a great compromise. Even someone who doesn't know Eva at all can see it's something allegorical and horrifying, what with the blood red water and all ^^.

millinniummany3k: That'd be me. You're welcome. Rei's severed head would have been a great indicator for how bad it gets, but I thought posting that as a link would be better. Likewise, the english cover was sort of spoilerific even though the story may fall into Itwashis Sled territory. Then I remembered the Japanese poster and how that was a creepy demonstration of Evangelion's High Octane Nightmare Fuel without going over the top. Eva 01 at the end of episode 20 would be a nice alternative, but especially seeing as how I first saw Eo E about the time I got Smackdown vs Raw (and where the song in the quote came from) I figured I'd bung up the image of a ghostly Misato and Maya with the line about Last Night on Earth.
