Goodwin - It's ironic that this is the current Modus Operandi, when it's written in the Home Page that, and I quote, We are not Wikipedia. We're a buttload more informal. Dear lord, change the Home Page.

Cliche: Is that used in an argumentative context? Is it implying a slippery slope fallacy or a Take That! ad hominem against Wikipedia? No, it's just a clarification notice. (07/01/09)

Noaqiyeum: I think the third definition is quite appropriate: "Suitable to or characteristic of casual and familiar, but educated, speech or writing."

Troper-Who-Wishes-To-Remain-Anonymous: What about when someone mentions this and actually has a point? i.e. a bunch of forum trolls convincing Janitor that I Am Not Making This Up was getting out of hand.
