I took Alternate Universe and Handwave off the list as I don't think they apply. Maybe in "Roger the Wanderer", but it's not clear to what degree it's real within the show. —Document N

What do you call the trope where a character's eyes appear completely in shadow (drawn as solid black) while they're speaking? Is it connected to Einstein's completely-black eyes in Farscape? —Document N

dkellis: Hidden Eyes, maybe? Or am I mistaken?

It doesn't go with emotional stress in Big O, but it's been too long for me to remember which scenes it did appear in. —Document N

Both the updated discussion page and the wiki page have been lost in the Great Crash. I've found the Yahoo cache here - http://216.109.125.130/search/cache?ei=UTF-8&p=site%3Atvtropes.org+trope+The+Big+O&y=Search&fr=moz2&u=tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheBigO&w=trope+tropes+big+o&d=T-ykEbXiQE5Z&icp=1&.intl=us And I'll try editing back in the info/messing with the formatting later. Just putting this here now in case anyone else is so inclined. This note will be edited out once I've put in all the changes. — eatenbyagrue
  • Really 700 Years Old ...Roger Smith seems to have been around forty years ago in some form, despite looking no more than thirty or thirty-five; in fact, nobody seems to have aged for forty years, but no one seems to give this a second thought.)
Objection. We see flashbacks of several characters when they were children, and in reference to the photograph, Gordon says: "Long ago I hired you... No. I hired a Roger Smith...". Conclusion: clone.

A chapter of the manga has Roger being haunted by memories of a woman whose identity he can't remember, but that's a separate continuity. There's also the scene in Act 01 where Dastun questions whether Roger's pictures of his family are really his own memories ("memories" presumably referring to any artifacts of the past), but I attribute that to the general paranoia of living in a place like Paradigm.

Also, unrelated: I don't really need to hide spoilers on the series's own discussion page, do I? —Document N

  • On further thought, two more lines support Roger's being older: halluci-Norman's "I have more than likely been looking after both you and Big O [since] long before we lost our memories" in Act 14, and Roger's "I don't have a single solitary memory about myself, but I don't believe anyone took them from me. I most likely erased them of my own free will!" in Act 26. Is he considering himself the same person as the Roger whose mind was imprinted over his own? Were the tomato flashbacks a red herring? I'm falling back on "I have no idea" for now. —Document N

I dunno about this; I think any series cancelled before its intended end should get a pass for missing mice. —Document N
Considering the series, this should have an It Just Bugs Me (I already see one or two items that could be added to such a page). Agree? —Coppelia Martyrdom
