Meta Four: Seeing as the wiki now supports punctuated titles, should I move this article to Complaining About Shows You Don't Like or to the more general Complaining About Stuff You Don't Like? I'm leaning towards the former, myself.

Later- It has been done. Moved this from the old discussion page.

Iritscen: When I followed a link here, I thought the point of the page was going to be, "Don't complain about a show you don't like. Just don't watch it. It's obviously not your cup of tea so don't rain on the parades of those whose cup of tea it is. Leave the complaining to those who *do* like the show and are upset with some plot hole, flawed premise, etc.". But all it's saying is, "Don't excessively list shows you don't like." Does anyone else agree with my version, by any chance? I think it deserves a page, but maybe I'm all alone on this.

Tanto: Eh, I'm not a big fan of the "Only fans of the show can criticize it!" argument. It seems like we either have to go with "Everyone can complain" or "No one can complain", and for the sake of peace (and not having to read other peoples' endless whining) I'd rather go with the latter.

Prfnoff: Deleted:

Still not enough? If you really want to tear that show a new one and bitch until your bowels back up, we have a place for that, too. This also applies to Gushing About Shows You Like.
...because it's no longer true.
Janitor: This reads like a rule. If we really need a trump-card for discussion in YKTTW it would likely be better to have an article titled Complaint that simply states that complaints are not as clever and interesting as they seem to be when they are being written and directs the reader to the legacy pages, if they simply must write one.
Aaaaaaaaaaand now the Discussion page for CASYDL is gone too. You people are worse than imageboard moderators.
Myth Sage: Permission to speak? Good. First, let me clear two things up. A: I loathed the Darth Wiki page. It struck me as the equivalent of a 16-pound testicular tumor. It didn't do anything except look ugly, aside from those strange folk who liked it. It turned the Darth Wiki from Affably Evil into a Complete Monster. B: I have nothing against the people who run this site. Moderating is no mean feat, and frankly, Fast Eddie is a hell of a lot more level-headed than some mods I've encountered. While people do get banned around here, it's paltry when you consider the "I'm taking my bat and going home" mentality of some mods.

But ultimately there's a difference between removing a disruptive topic and preventing discussion about it. Sure, it probably would have descended into an immature cesspool of people screaming "FASCIST" and "TROLL" and odds are somebody would be doing Straw Man arguments involving offensive imitations. But only then is it really a quagmire on par with the DWCASYDL page or the Ultimate Troll Entry. Until then, I would argue that allowing the discussion continue. Of course, my opinion isn't worth that much. Most of my edits were tiny, fanboyish, self-advertising, etc. And those that aren't are few and far between because I realized that me typing often leads to me making a moron of myself. But, despite this, I care about the wiki. So, I ask you: is mere discussion and dissent (albeit, only the rational kind) such a genuine threat? If it is, then why do we have forums and discussion pages? Why aren't those who question the way the wiki is run simply removed? Ultimately, I believe that some degree of rational discourse is necessary, even (or especially) during administrative conflicts; otherwise, both sides just get Flandersized into the Evil Moderator side and the Hippy Newb side.

Sure, you could ban those who disagree. You could make it look like they never existed. If you take offense to my comments, you could ban me. You could take away the Darth Wiki, the So Bad It's Horrible page, and anything that yielded flaming and trolls. But that's a lot of people to ban, a lot of comments to censor, a lot of articles to delete. So, Fast Eddie, Janitor, Gus, and anybody else who runs this wiki, I'm asking, nay, begging you; let us talk. Let both sides try to reason with each other. I may be just one small-time troper, but I too want this project to continue and to keep its spirit.

Thank you for reading this, and thank you in advance for not banning my ass.

Freezair For A Limited Time: I agree with this, but merely ask: Where do you think the best place to discuss such a topic would be?

Myth Sage: Er...is that question addressed to me? Obviously, my expertise here is somewhat lacking, but anyway. I'd suggest keeping the article on the wiki, and not on the forums. I'd think a discussion or a /talk page would be best, but something about Darth Wiki brings out the worst in people, so that might not be the best place. Maybe a link/redirect from the page to the discussion would be good. Ultimately, I think the /talk would make it sound more official and stuff.
