Considering I'm the one who made this page and was the main contributor to it, it shouldn't be hard to guess I liked this series and thought it had potential to be amazing. Note the past tense. The first half was amazing, with interesting characterization and good humor, Shiroe and Akatsuki being highlights. The next five episodes a bit less so, since the humor was more hit or miss, and there's the questionable consent behind Krusty and Raynesia's relationship since it's being enforced by a dice roll that the latter was clearly not comfortable with originally. But the subplot with Rudy was still handled nicely.
The finale though is where it all falls apart. Half an entire season crammed into a single episode, characters from there reduced to one note gags, what should be interesting details just being mentioned offhandedly, and most of the plot excised in favor of setting up an Expanded Universe.
It's that last part that really gets me. Suddenly the entire series becomes nothing more than a sidequest for the Slime Abridged plot with the LH cast becoming bit players in their own story, the events of the series are undermined by the revelation it was all just a simulation that is going to be deleted, which also means most of the cast is now just dead all of a sudden, the thing with Raynesia becomes even creepier since Milim pulled a Grand Theft Me on her while Krusty was getting her pregnant, hell it even renders any other series they abridge pointless with the fact they are nothing but simulations to placate Veldora!
Basically, the finale made almost nothing matter in the main series. Rudy becoming a Dave and Isuzu getting to be with him? Naotsugu and Marielle's relationship developing? Shiroe working to get everyone back home? All pointless now. One episode single handedly managed to instill Eight Deadly Words in not just this series, but every series PhatDogStudios puts into this universe by virtue of them being only simulations doomed to die. So nice going PhatDogStudios, way to shoot yourself in the foot.
WebVideo Had me until the finale (Spoilers, duh)
