Decision is a real vague name. I literally didn't even have the slightest idea what to expect from this game. I was neither surprised nor disappointed to find out, it's another zombie apocalypse game. Thus I decided to give it a try.
The top-down view reminds me of some other older zombie shooter. I wonder whether they're related somehow.
It was kind of a surprise to find out you don't have to worry about ammunition baring occassional reloads. On maps swarming with deadheads there won't be much time to seek and obtain replacement ammo anyway, so I can't say it's a bad thing.
peaking of the deadheads, at times they actually don't seem that undead anyway. Sure they're slow and stupid, but the later ones, which are armed, the werewolves and giant "hulks" which are more aggressive and agile, they "feel" rather alive.
Especially the second game featured the best mechanism and possibilities. You could ramble around any area all you want and it was up to you, when you wanted to leave it. The rage injections were a real fun option to initiate infighting (they actually caused other undead to turn on the injected one) and made dealing with "hulks" a lot easier. The survival areas would actually be nigh-unplayable without them. Especially the southwestern one which just swarmed with military deadheads and grenade-throwing punks (they seemed to have mohawks, hence the nickname).
Unfortunately the third game is nowhere as fun as the first two. It greatly suffers from feature creep. Maintaining outposts and other important objects requires multiple types of people, but they are hard to come by (especially engineers and captains are really exclusive). Your weapons and rewards for everything got nerfed to the point of complete patheticism. The enemy, on the other hand got insane buffs, especially mutants, your weapons hardly scratch them. The later areas are crawling with metric fucktons of giants and now even the they can leap ludicrous dostances so not even gun nests can stop them. The strongest ones are even immune to rage injections. Funny huh? Apparently the author thought that the previous games were too easy because in this one, the difficulty is ramped up to crazy levels. It's almost like they wanted to jerk-off their ego, to feel badass. They failed spectacularly. I cant believe this was the game of the year 2014.
With this experience I didn't even want to try the medieval version, sice gmaplay-wise it's the same as the third but in middle ages.
And the last one? You really expect me to pay for this? No thanks, I've had enough.
VideoGame Second game was the best.
