Reviews: The Vanishing Of Nagato Yuki Chan
The finale: What was the point?
Kyon finally works up the courage to confess to Nagato, he does so but conveniently their are suddenly loud fireworks so Nagato can't hear him, but Kyon barely notices. He takes her to a quieter place, confesses, gets drummed out again but somehow manages to make out "Let's just go back to normal ok?" So they agree to go back to normal for no real reason and the anime ends Yep, a season finale pulls Status Quo is God for no reason, making sure the lead's feelings are never deal with, her character doesn't develop and nothing is dealt with. Which begs the question, what was the point of the series? This basically makes it 20 minutes of fluff and its not even close to be being funny enough to get away with that. I look back and I can't help but feel this was a complete waste of time. One of the worst finales in an anime ever, up there with Digimon 02 and if you get down to it, not much different to Berserk's No Ending. I'm done with the Haruhi franchise. No matter what cool concepts they bring up, the plots will never move forward, interesting ideas will never be adequately enjoyed and no one will develop in any meaningful way. Realizing the complete lack of substance, something like Endless Eight suddenly makes a lot more sense. If their aren't plot and character arcs to put on hold, why not spend 8 episodes trolling the viewer? 1/10 and I'm being generous
