Simply put, the Hatchet Trilogy is one of the greatest horror series ever, let alone in the last decade.
The plot is suprisingly intricate for a slasher film, with a connected ongoing plot dealing with a woman hunting the revenant that murdered her family. Both our Protagonist (Mary-Beth, played by Danielle Harris) and antagonist (Victor Crowley, played by Kane Hodder aka Jason) are interesting and sympathetic, which helps you actually care about them and get invested in the story. Reverend Zombie, played by Horror legend Tony Todd (from Night of the Living Dead and Final Destination) also does a very good job in the second movie.
In addition to the violence, there is also some suprisingly funny humor thrown in as well, especially from Parry Shen, who plays three different characters in each movie.
All in all, this is one of the best Slasher movies I have ever seen, and would recommend it to anyone who likes horror movies.
Also, Danielle Harris is hot as hell, just saying.
Film The Best Slasher film in 20 years.
Warning: Slight Spoilers.
