This is the first Wreck it Ralph fanfic I've seen in a LONG time. Oddly enough it focuses on Vanillatastic (Turbo x Vanellope), a rather small ship within the fandom.
That's not to say it's bad though, it's actually very well written. It dives deeper into Turbo's personality and why he did the things he did. The story is presented in a plausible way, that is...it tries to stay with canon. This is a nice break from many Vanillatastic authors who just throw the characters together, an unlikely relationship indeed.
The doujin is (according to the author) actually an ongoing online fan novel. It is updated every other week, usually with a companion illustration. These are usually posted on her Vanillatastic blog on Tumblr or her Deviant ART account.
Violeta is actually a doujinshi artist (fan comic artist), so I would imagine this to be a departure from her normal work. I personally consider this to be her magnum opus compared to her previous fan works.
Now a note on content...the fanfic has (in my opinion) pushed the boundaries of becoming a Dark Fic, as violence/sensitive themes have been a key point in the plot. Coarse language is peppered in here and there. Also, while the fanfic is not sexually explicit in nature there are some NSFW parts. The author points this out at the beginning of each chapter, however, allowing the reader to skip through if they so desire.
All in all I'd say it's a great, albeit different, fanfic. I'd recommend it to any fans of this pairing.
