As mentioned in the summary, this is actually a bit of an AU ( Azula dies in the final battle), but not enough to justify it being placed under the AU heading. It also seems to be breaking up most of the canon pairings, and perhaps leaning toward a few different fan-popular couples, although the focus is certainly not mainly on romance. This is a very well-written, mature take on what the Gaang has to deal with after the war. Especially notable is the character development for Mai and Katara, as well as the well-developed and very sympathetic original characters.
